Located within the Department of Textile Design, the Knitting Workshop is used for machine knitting projects. It acts as an educational workshop, allowing for prototyping and production in an industrial setting. The Knitting Workshop primarily serves the textile and fashion design departments, as well as various textile research projects at Shenkar, utilizing a wide range of materials and knitting structures to overcome geometric challenges. The workshop’s equipment includes three Stoll computerized flatbed industrial knitting machines, at three different gauges, and two circular knitting machines – one is a striper machine, and the other is used to make seamless body-tight garments. The workspace is equipped with all the necessary software to support fabric design and industrial fabrication.
The Knitting Workshop is led by Neomi Bar.
